Roberto Carlos Was an Absolute Monster

When Real Madrid came to play RSL everyone was giddy to see David Beckham. I however was there to see Roberto Carlos.

If I remember correctly he didn't play much or if he did there wasn't much to get excited about.

I did get close enough at the stadium groundbreaking to catch a good glimpse of him close up.

Pretty cool, maybe my one moment of soccer greatness. Well, that and then the fact that I was the first fan to welcome Jason Kreis to Salt Lake. But that is another story.

Commissioner Garber: Las Vegas "frontrunner" for MLS' 30th team, potential stadium "right off the strip"

Las Vegas is firmly in Major League Soccer's crosshairs, Commissioner Don Garber said during the MLS Cup 2021 halftime interview on ABC.

Earlier this week, during his annual State of the League Address, Garber said Las Vegas was a favorite to become MLS' 30th team as expansion nears that benchmark. Then speaking to ESPN's Taylor Twellman, he only further emboldened that possibility.

My take;

Yeah, I guess Vegas would be a perfect match for MLS seeing as Vegas is the epitome of "chasing the Almighty Dollar".

I still think MLS is on shaky ground financially, I know others disagree and would say MLS has built itself into a financially stable league, better than the other American professional sports leagues, thanks to its single entity structure.

Maybe, whatever, I don't know. The league seems sleazy to me, and that's why I don't watch it anymore.

So it should fit nicely in Vegas which is a rather sleazy town.
