(si.com 4-27-13)
A fire started inside the Columbus Crew Stadium scoreboard delaying the start of the Major League Soccer match between the Columbus Crew and D.C. United on Saturday night.
The fire happened during warmups at the stadium and it pushed the start time of the game back nearly an hour. There is no word on the cause of the fire. The fire began in the scoreboard’s speaker cabinet, and no one was hurt in the fire.
The team said that the Columbus Fire Department has the fire under control and that the players from both sides headed back into the locker room to prepare for the game. The teams played the match without the scoreboard.
